LIMBO

Here’s an amazing game that I discovered recently. (Yeah I’m behind the times in gaming. Sue me.) This striking game is all in black and white and has an eerie soft focus that gives it a sublime beauty and creepy quality. It’s actually pretty similar to a certain favorite short film of mine but when you do black and white soft focus, things tend to look pretty similar. What really impressed me was that the game was obviously composed of flat shapes that where composited in such a way as to achieve a great deal to three dimensionality and the addition of the grainy quality takes flat geometric shapes to such an amazing new level. Check it. (and oh yeah, it’s violent, disturbing, and hopelessly morose.)
